We are pleased to offer this vintage, Original Art for the covers of the Fillmore East 1969 Programs, designed by legendary artist David Byrd. This one-of-a-kind, the framed piece features gorgeous, intricate original pencil line drawings, and notes directly from the hand of the artist. It's certainly one of the show-stopper lots of this auction!
The famed venue was located in the lower East side of Manhattan and was host to all of the major acts of the day. There were relatively few posters produced for the Fillmore East. Instead, Bill Graham used his print budget to create playbill-type programs for the legendary theatre-style venue. The cover image for the 1969 programs, with their classic Renaissance-inspired design, are cherished by collectors and art lovers combined. This long-held, one-of-a-kind piece is not to be overlooked!
