This beautifully matted & framed original art is dated 1970 and signed by the artist David Byrd!

Presenting one of the most historically important lots we've ever had the pleasure of offering in our auction, this is THE hand-drawn, Original Art for the very last performance of The Who's epic rock opera, Tommy, held at the New York Metropolitan Opera House in Lincoln Center. This ultra-famous design was created by the legendary poster artist David Byrd.

This one-of-a-kind, framed piece features gorgeous, intricate original pencil line drawings, and notes directly from the hand of the artist. The original art you see here was long held by collector and music fan Electric Dave Lawrence and has remained untouched under the frame for decades.

The striking design is without a doubt one of the most beloved by collectors and Who fans alike. The thin-paper posters produced from this original art to advertise the concert were a favorite of Bill Graham's, and one hung in his office right behind his desk at the Fillmore East! We beg you not to overlook this offering, as this is truly one of a kind, and will not surface again for diehard collectors of Who material.

Condition: Beautifully Framed and Matted.
