This powerful poster for a cancelled Howlin’ Wolf show at the Avalon features another classic Mouse/Kelley design. The poster is the first and only printing which makes this poster especially desirable and valuable. This example is just the second Mint Condition example to be auctioned off with CGC grading and the first CGC specimen to be signed by both artists Stanley Mouse and the late Alton Kelley.
This poster is superb in all respects. The only flaw is a 2 inch smudge of green ink that appears in the lower right corner The previous CGC graded Mint Condition sale was an UNSIGNED 9.8 specimen that realized $2875.00 on 6/16/16. While several examples of this poster have traded hands with signatures of either Mouse OR Kelley DOUBLE SIGNED examples in this incredible condition are all but impossible to find and are extremely difficult to find and can take many years to locate.
This poster has been signed by the artists Stanley Mouse and the late Alton Kelley.
