1967 Frank Zappa The Mothers The Cafe Au Go Go Poster

We are excited to be offering this rare Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention poster for the FIRST time in our auction! This poster was produced to promote the Mothers of Invention performing at the Cafe Au Go Go in New York City in May of 1967. The poster incorporated the Album Cover art from the Mothers 2nd Album “Absolutely Free”. The shows from this period in New York reportedly were exciting, bizarre, complex, and outrageous. The performances were considered Off-Broadway theater and musical performance combined.
