1987 Alton Kelley The Psychedelic Shop Two Piece Pellon

This is a scarce, two piece pellon designed in 1987 for The Psychedelic Shop in San Francisco. A pellon is a piece of felt with design made to test print on, and then send to the management for approval to be used for Tshirts and merchandise. They are VERY rare and only one or two were ever made of each design! The Psychedelic Shop was opened by activist Larry Littlejohn and Michael Van Dyke in 1976 at 1072 Market Street. They later moved the shop to 1098B Market Street around 1988 or so, and it remained there until it closed in the late 90s.
