This original First Printing poster was created for the 1968 Northern California Folk-Rock Festival in Santa Clara California. The annual event drew some of the biggest acts of the day. This festival featured Jefferson Airplane on Saturday and The Doors on Sunday.
The use of the photogenic Jim Morrison as the central image makes this a very striking and memorable design. The colors and lettering jump right off the paper! A cornerstone of any true 60s vintage poster collection!
The additional festival acts included Big Brother and the Holding Company featuring Janis Joplin, The Youngbloods, The Electric Flag, Kaleidoscope, Taj Mahal, and Ravi Shankar. Although not mentioned in the promotional material, the Grateful Dead also performed.
It's no secret CGC Graded posters featuring The Doors, The Airplane, and Janis Joplin continue to enjoy worldwide demand. The incredibly limited availability of museum-quality material is far outweighed by the thousands of enthusiastic collectors in constant search of it!
