The Early Avalon Ballroom posters from 1966 are the finest and most valuable of the entire Family Dog series. The print runs were low and the art was fresh and innovative. This poster feature two great bands from Texas the groundbreaking psychedelic band 13th Floor Elevators and The Tex Mex  /R& B innovators Sir Douglass Quintet. Ask any knowledgeable collector and they will tell you that the FD 24 is one of the most undervalued posters in the Family Dog series. Indeed our records track just 4 MINT copies that have been offered at auction in the past 10 years. A Double signed copy brought $1094 on 9/19/10 another DS copy brought $1787 on 11/8/12 a Mouse signed copy brought $1155 on 2/24/13 and a Double Signed copy brought $1056 on 5/12/16. This is an amazing totally original example of the early work of Mouse and Kelley. There are no nicks cuts tear pinholes or restoration of any kind. The poster is pristine from the front with PERFECT paper and bright lively colors. The only flaw is a few pinhead sized toning spots in the ticket strip at the very bottom of the poster. On the back are two ¼ inch extremely light toning spots. You won’t find a better blend of history beauty and condition to add to your collection. And best of all this poster has always represented a superior value that far underestimates it’s rarity in top condition. We don’t think this market inefficiency will last forever!

Signed by the artists Stanley Mouse and the late Alton Kelley
