1977 Margo St James 4th Hookers Ball Poster

This original poster was created to promote the 4th annual Hooker's Ball, held at the San Francisco Civic Auditorium on October 28, 1977. In the 1970s, self-described prostitute and sex-positive feminist, Margo St. James, was the founder of the COYOTE organization (Call Off Your Old Tired Ethics), which advocated decriminalization of prostitution. Fund raising involved an annual hosting of the well-attended Hooker's Ball. This event featured performances from Mike Bloomfield, Merl Saunders, John Cippolina, and more!
