The Psychedelic Art Exchange has unearthed an incredibly scarce and beautiful small run silkscreen. This poster was created in the art department at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill for a February 29th 1969 concert by the queen of the San Francisco scene the legendary blues goddess Janis Joplin. Artist Jean Collier designed this original print. The print run was from 60-80 copies and we estimate that less than 5 copies exist in any state of condition. Posters like this rarely surface and are often traded privately..…. We are offering a once in a lifetime opportunity to our customers. This original hand pulled silkscreen is printed on poster board and measures 15" x 22" This piece is near perfect from the front save for the tiniest lower right corner bump. The only thing keeping this from being a “Mint” poster is a series of ultra light tape pulls on the back that barely remove any material. A couple of pieces of residual masking tape are present as well. In anyone else’s world this is a mint poster but according to the strict grading criteria of P.A.E. it has been graded in the middle of our “Near Mint” category. No nicks tears pin holes. Just beautiful!"
