Original pre concert first printing handbill for Country Joe at Berkeley's Jabberwock. On this particular example of the original handbill, a page of the November 1966 issue number 11 of the cult rock newsletter Mojo Navigator appears on the reverse of the handbill. Issue 11 included an interview with Country Joe & The Fish, who were also on the cover, plus a Moscoso handbill FD-36 Country Joe, Big Brother and The Holding Company and Quicksilver Messenger Service at the Avalon.

The Jabberwock started as a successful jazz club in the early sixties until it was purchased by Bill Jolly Blue Ehlert in 1965. Ehlert converted much of the venue's performances to a more psychedelic sound. In 1966 Ehlert hired Jesse Cahn who had been a guest drummer for the Chambers Brothers to co manage the Jabberwock while he ran the Matrix in San Francisco.
