We are pleased to be offering one of our favorite Grateful Dead posters of all time. The poster was created for a concert series that never materialized. Very few copies exist in any condition and the copies that remain are few and far between. The poster is large and printed on heavy stock and generally shows up in poor condition. This example is the best condition we've ever seen.
The poster was a creation of the late Greg Irons. Irons was a well-respected San Francisco concert poster artist, comic book legend, and tattoo artist extraordinaire. He was also responsible for designing the cover art for the breakthrough bluegrass band Old and in the Way which featured Jerry Garcia, so Dead Fans may already familiar with his unique illustration style. However, this poster is the only Irons/Grateful Dead concert poster that we know of.
Comic book fans in the audience would be well served by checking out Greg Irons's contributions to 1960s underground comix. The artist was responsible for some of the coolest and creepiest comic books of the genre. His parodies of 1940/1950s horror comics are wild, to say the least!
