After the Family Dog ended their tenure at the Avalon Ballroom. A production company names Sound Proof Productions began hosting shows at the venue. Soundproof enlisted the talents of Rick Griffin for the poster art. This partnership left thee incredible piece of Griffin artwork to collectors. The most noteworthy was The Art for The Grateful Dead concert ended up be used as the cover for the bands third album Aoxomoxoa but there were two other wonderful Griffin posters that are sleepers for collectors this being one of them. This poster was for a performance of Van Morrison at the Avalon. The large text in the body of the poster is unintelligible Griffin style lettering.
