This is the FIRST Original (OP-1) example of this issue to ever appear in our auction! During the boom of psychedelic rock, Sausalito became a hangout for many of the Bay Area bands. After they finished their main gigs they would pop over the Bridge and play late night sets at the Ark. The venue was a favorite destination for these shows as it was the only venue open late.

The Ark was only open for a short time but many of the SF bands played there including Big Brother Steve Miller and Santana. This is a Pre-Concert first-printing poster created for a 1969 show at The Ark in Sausalito. The show featured Big Brother with support from Jack the Ripper. The central image of the poster is an orange nude with purple hair in the style of Art Nuevo posters. A great opportunity to get a beautiful poster from the 1960's with a great design and one of the classic bands!

Due to this example being an OP-1 edition, there is no "Portal Publications" credit lower right, which appears on the RP-2 examples we have previously auctioned.
