Original First Printing BG-23 Poster in very clean condition! As history reflects, The Jefferson Airplane and Grateful Dead were the two top bands of the San Francisco psychedelic scene. Although both groups were immensely talented and made marked contributions to musical innovation, they took different paths. The Airplane were the critics darlings and "looked the part" for the press. Of all the SF bands of the day, the Airplane were first to land a big record contract and received relative fame and fortune.

The Dead on the other hand were rough, scruffy, and un-photogenic and not immediately successful. Yet time has proven their impact and significance on the history of music as their genre is actively emulated in today's jamband scene. This poster utilizes the classic photographs of master photographer Herb Greene along with Wilson's classic lettering to create a lasting homage to these legendary bands.
