We are pleased to offer the FIRST CGC Graded example of the OP-4 version of this amazing and very rare Vulcan Gas Company poster to EVER appear at public auction!

Austin Texas has a rich musical tradition dating back to the 1930s. Often spoken of in the same breath with Nashville and New Orleans Austin is considered an American sweet spot of musical collaboration and innovation. During the 1960s a small group of students began promoting Psychedelic and Blues concerts in the Austin area. They were originally known as the Electric Grandmother. Later they became the Vulcan Gas Company and eventually opened a venue under the same name.

This poster was designed by the amazing Gilbert Shelton. Shelton was the art director for the Vulcan along with Jim Franklin of Armadillo World Headquarters fame. Shelton went on to become one of most well known underground Comix artists of all time. This issue titled White Girl is the first example of VG-4 variant OP-4 original printing poster we have EVER auctioned with or without CGC grading. Extremely SCARCE! Bid accordingly.
