Presenting this May 1966 calendar from The Jabberwock in Berkeley! Artists including Lightnin' Hopkins, Robbie Basho, Congress of Wonders, and more are advertised under the statement "Folk Music Lives!". The Jabberwok started as a successful jazz club in the early sixties until it was purchased by Bill "Jolly Blue" Ehlert in 1965. Ehlert converted much of the venue's performances to a more psychedelic sound. In 1966 Ehlert hired Jesse Cahn who had been a guest drummer for the Chambers Brothers to co-manage the Jabberwock while he ran the Matrix in San Francisco.
