1971 The Band Midway Stadium Poster

This original poster features the Open Air Celebration Festival a single day music fest event held at Midway Stadium in St. Paul Minnesota on June 26th 1971. Performers listed for the concert were The Band John Sebastian Delaney & Bonnie The Paul Butterfield Blues Band Muddy Waters and Crow. Artist Anne C. Elliott designed the artwork. There were two versions of the poster produced & printed before the event. This version is on white textured stock with gold color only around the Open Air Celebration lettering & behind the figures. There is also another variant printing on canary yellow paper stock. Both are considered original pre-concert posters. This is the first time this OP-1 version has appeared in our auction! Condition, Small edge tears top left, toning, corner creases bottom corners, framers tape hinges on reverse.
