This wonderful poster is collaboration by two of the greatest artists of the period. R. Crumb and Gilbert Shelton were most well known for their incredible body of work as artists in the underground comix movement. However each did a handful of concert posters as well. Shelton designed several posters for The Vulcan Gas company series but Crumb rarely did concert posters. This poster was created for a Soundproof Productions event at the Avalon that featured; It’s a Beautiful Day Country Weather and Big Mama Thorton. This Original First Printing measures 14" x 16 31/32" The poster has no nicks tears pin holes or missing paper. This poster is featured in the “Art of Rock” Plate # 2.27. We at PAE believe that this is a poster that has ridiculous potential. R. Crumb is perhaps the most well-known and feverously collected artist from the era. Original art and first edition comix by Crumb are valuable high-end collectibles. This poster is a true sleeper. "
