The Phoenix Dance was a benefit that was held at the Fillmore in 1967. This event showcased several of the top San Francisco bands of the day. This odd poster claimed that the benefit was held to raise funds for a Quaker medical relief ship to North Viet Nam and for rebuilding a bombed out community center in Mississippi. The Vietnam conflict and the civil rights movement were huge topics of in 1967 and San Francisco’s bohemian youth community was not sitting on the sidelines. This Original First Printing measures 13 7/32" x 19 30/32" This poster has no tears holes or missing paper stains or any flaws! A true historical relic."
