This is the FIRST time we are offering this handbill in our auction, which offers the same great artwork as the poster for just a fraction of the cost. The late great Ornette Coleman was a true pioneer in all regards. His body of work through his career up to his death in 2015 was celebrated by many. He was one of the founders of "free jazz", a term he invented and embraced through his improvisational and emotional style of playing alto sax. Those of you who know the Grateful Dead's music, know that Jerry Garcia was heavily influenced by free jazz and the improvisational qualities therein. Coleman joined the Dead on stage in 1993 during "Space" and stayed for "The Other One", "Stella Blue", Bobby Bland's "Turn on Your Lovelight", and the encore "Brokedown Palace". Seek it out.
