This poster is signed in gold colored ink by the artist Randy Tuten!

This Bill Graham poster advertises concerts in 1979 at Oakland Coliseum by one of the most popular heavy-hitter names in the history of rock: The Grateful Dead! This was part of a benefit concert for the Campaign of Economic Democracies Task Force on Environmental Cancer. The poster was designed by well known poster artist Randy Tuten. In the late sixties, after a year of being rejected as a poster artist by Chet Helms at the Avalon, a young Randy Tuten took his portfolio to the Fillmore where Bill Graham immediately hired him. Tuten was partial to traditional advertising styles, and Graham was bound to see his work as something more like his own tastes. Graham continued to tap Tuten through the seventies for poster design work time and time again, for venues like the Oakland Stadium, Cow Palace and others.
