We are pleased to offer this handbill for the FIRST time in our auction! This rare piece was designed to advertise the Grateful Dead along with New Riders of the Purple Sage at the Aqua Theatre in Seattle, WA. The show was scheduled to take place on August 20, 1969, but it was rained out so they played the next day (August 21) at the venue instead. This show was the last one to take place at the venue, located in Seattle's Green Lake neighborhood, as the grandstand was declared unsafe. It is rumored that the night of the 20th, the Dead played at a bar called El Roach, at 5419 Ballard Avenue NW, in the suburb of Ballard (just Southwest of Seattle proper). An amazing piece of concert history that is unlikely to appear again at auction anytime soon!
