The music community lost one of it's unique talents this past September.George Frayne IV, alias Commander Cody left this world after a half century of performing his rare style of roots rock. This early Commander Cody poster was used to advertise an early concert at The Family Dog Great Highway in San Francisco.After The Family Dog were forced out of the Avalon Ballroom, Chet Helms opened up shop on the Great Highway. The site was at the former Edgewater Ballroom, part of the Playland at the Beach complex. Some shows were also billed with the venue name change of friends and relations hall.
