This poster is signed in pencil by the artist John Van Hamersveld! The Chambers Brothers Dr John the night tripper and the incredibly influential and edgy Velvet Underground took the stage at The Shrine in Los Angeles for 2 nights at the end of May of 1968. John Van Hamersveld produced this classic image as part of the Pinnacle Dance Concert Series and it's a lasting tribute to those events! John Van Hamersveld, Marc Chase and Sepp Donahower were heavily involved in Pinnacle and produced some of the most powerful and electrifying concerts in the history of Rock music at the Shrine Auditorium in the late 60's. This illustration portrays Lou Reed's groundbreaking band in a whimsically light comic book style and is illustrated in the Art of Rock on page 254. Rarely surfacing at public auction for collectors, this lot is certainly not one to be overlooked!
