This original promotional poster from the Grateful Dead's 1971 self-titled album. This was the band's second double-live album following the release of Live/Dead in 1969, and the first of the band's releases to become certified gold by RIAA. The band originally wanted to call the album Skull Fuck, a title which was vetoed by Warner Brothers, but it has become known colloquially as Skull and Roses due to the famous album cover. As most poster people are aware, the skull and roses image first appeared in association with the Grateful Dead in the form of the FD-26, a poster designed by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley in 1966. This is the original promotional poster that was created for the album, and it is 100% original with no restoration!
