This gorgeous, rare handbill was designed by artist D. Arthur Hahn for the Velvet Underground's June 1967 appearance at the Boston Tea Party in Boston, MA. According to Lou Reed, the venue was the Velvets "favorite place to play in the whole country", and Boston adored the group just as much. This handbill represents what was just the second time that the Velvet Underground played at the Boston Tea party, which had only opened its doors as a rock hall just six months earlier. At this point in their career, the band was still managed by Andy Warhol and had just released their first album, "The Velvet Underground & Nico". This handbill is a great piece of early Velvet Underground history, and is unlikely to appear in a public auction anytime soon!
