Jimi Hendrix was the undeniable ”Poster Boy” of the sixties. His style and flash made him one of the most recognizable characters of the decade. This poster is one of the most enduring images of this legendary guitar god.
This poster by master LA Artist John Van Hamersveld is a lasting remnant from a very rare period in history. While San Francisco was getting all of the attention for its “scene” Los Angeles California was having a pretty wild party on its own and since it was LA it had to be bigger and more sensational. A promotion group known as Pinnacle Productions began having concerts at the 5000 seats Shrine Auditorium and was hosting many of the now legendary performers of the day.
