Here we have a striking black and white advertisement for a benefit concert held at the Fillmore Auditorium in 1966. Along with a then newly formed Jefferson Airplane, the show also featured The Great Society, The Wildflower, Big Mama Thornton, Elvin Jones and a line-up of jazz greats that included Jon Hendricks, and actor / activist Garry Goodrow as the emcee. The Grateful Dead, who were not billed, closed the show with a set played on other people's equipment. The first few songs were a bit loose, but the Dead rounded into form with a good version of "Midnight Hour". This event was held to benefit the jazz club known as the “Both/And”. This rare specimen is 100% Original with no restoration of any kind!
