Here we have a super early HIGH GRADE Original BG poster featuring an All-Star list of San Francisco’s legendary bands of the era including the very young Grateful Dead and Big Brother. Janis had recently joined Big Brother just a few weeks before this Fillmore concert date and this was the very first time Big Brother played at a Fillmore concert.
The earlier numbered BG / Fillmore series first printing posters were printed in much smaller print runs than the later concert posters in the series as well as subsequent printings of the first printing posters. The popular BG-14 was designed by the late great Wes Wilson. It goes without saying very few of these early Fillmore posters have survived the test of time in ANY condition and therefore they are always being hunted by collectors around the globe. We have only offered CGC Graded examples of this rare original poster a handful of times now and this one is in museum quality condition! In November of last year another 9.4 graded example reached $1 800 in our auction.
