This large vintage headshop poster features a poem by the late great Lawrence Ferlinghetti. The poem was part of his 1958 landmark work "A Coney Island of the Mind". The booked contained some of Ferlinghetti’s most famous poems such as “I Am Waiting” and “Junkman's Obbligato” which were created for jazz accompaniment. It remains one of the best-selling and most popular books of poetry ever published.

The poster exhibits a photograph by Ron Raffaelli and was produced in 1970 by Poster Prints Conshohocken PA. Ferlinghetti was essential to the Beat generation. He co-founded the iconic City Lights bookstore in San Francisco’s North Beach and was responsible for publishing some of the work of his fellow Beat poets including Allen Ginsberg’s Howl and Other Poems for which he and Ginsberg faced obscenity charges in a famed trial. Ferlinghetti passed away just a few months ago at the age of 101.
