This original handbill advertises a string of screenings of the Rolling Stones film Sympathy for the Devil at the University of California Santa Barbara in May circa 1969. The film was released in 1968 and directed by the influential filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard. It was Godard's first English language film. The film combines footage of the Rolling Stones recording their hit song of the same name interspersed with political messages. Also depicted is the breakdown in the relationship between the band and their original founder and guitar player Brian Jones who would be dismissed from the band in July of 1969. This handbill is 100% original with no restoration!
