This program is from a stop on the Dead's 1974 summer tour at the Philadelphia Civic Center a few months before they took a hiatus from playing concerts for a year or so to pursue solo projects and get some rest. Philadelphia was always a major Grateful Dead "hotspot" and this show was fantastic with an exploratory jamming-segue of songs late in the second set: “Weather Report Suite-Space-Wharf Rat-US Blues”. The program includes a written piece about so-called "Dead freaks" ads for Grateful Dead merch and even an ad for John Waters' Pink Flamingos. A truly great piece of Grateful Dead history!
