Here for the first time in our auction we have a CGC Graded example of this great looking Museum Quality Condition poster! This original first printing piece advertises shows at the historic Matrix venue during September 1968. The artwork was created by Seattle's George Chacona along with Marty Rice.
Included in the itinerary that week were Seatrain Spooky Tooth Cleveland Wrecking Company Petros and David Blue. The Cleveland Wrecking Company were a bay area band that formed in 1965 and opened for the Grateful Dead and Santana from time to time among many others. The four talented band members came from jazz flamenco and R&B backgrounds but together their garage psych-rock was often similar to the heavy & unforgiving Blue Cheer.
The Matrix was a tiny club in San Francisco that held just 150 people. How many posters could they have possibly produced for this event? Museum Quality Condition!
