This Original Headshop Poster exhibits a portrait of Sergeant I. A. Fink giving the peace sign with a joint big belly roach clip & night stick along with the title: Pride Integrity Gallantry Service (PIGS). It was produced by Rat's Hole in Daytona Florida circa late 1970.

Yesterday's headshop poster as a social statement is today's online meme - as police brutality is not just a thing of the past. The war on hippies peaceful protesters and of course the killing of 4 Kent State students by the Ohio National Guard in 1970 had a huge impact on how the counterculture viewed authority and police brutality. Posters such as this began to surface during that era and were not always printed in large quantities. This is the first example of this poster to appear in our auction. There are strips of tape at the bottom on the left and the right covering the "Rat's Hole Daytona Florida" printing credits but it's in otherwise good shape. A true period piece you won't find easily these days but obviously the social & political issue itself still runs strong currently.
