This large printers proof poster produced on medium cardboard stock advertises Lorenzo Ferlinghetti and Jerry Kamstra at a poetry reading. The event was called an evening of auditory assault and was held at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz. Lorenzo is Lawrence Ferlinghetti's son who is also a poet. Kamstra was author of the popular book "The Frisco Kid". We are not certain what year this event took place however this poster is SIGNED BY LAWRENCE FERLINGHETTI and Jerry Kamstra.
Lawrence Ferlinghetti was essential to the Beat generation. He co-founded the iconic City Lights bookstore in San Francisco’s North Beach and was responsible for publishing some of the work of his fellow Beat poets including Allen Ginsberg’s Howl and Other Poems for which he and Ginsberg faced obscenity charges in a famed trial. Ferlinghetti passed away earlier this year at the age of 101.
