This original black & white photograph of Jerry Garcia was taken as the Grateful Dead performed on stage at the Summit in Houston Texas on October 20th 1988. The band performed the first live version of their song "Built To Last" at this show. The photograph was taken by Richard Carson for the Houston Chronicle.
Richard Carson worked for several newspapers and magazines including over a decade in the 1980's as staff photographer and Assistant Director of Photography at the Houston Chronicle. He photographed major news and sporting events including the Superbowl the World Series and several Summer & Winter Olympics. This original photo has stamps writing & stickers on reverse along with a Richard Carson copyright stamp.
