The Charlatans' George Hunter and Family Dog photographer Jerry Wainwright designed this original Avalon poster featuring Bill Haley & The Comets The Drifters and The Flamin' Groovies at the Avalon Ballroom in August 1968. The man in the photo is underground disc jockey Tom Donahue who was celebrated for playing a wider range of counterculture material on the air in San Francisco - not often heard on the regular top 40 stations back in the day.
THERE WERE NO REPRINTS of this poster ever produced. This is the first CGC graded example of this original poster to appear in our auction. It rests in 9.6 superb museum quality condition - exhibiting a beautiful George Hunter signature just waiting for you to fill the gap in your collection with it!
