A Globe Printing Corp cardboard poster! This tour blank features Dinah Washington Eddie Vinson and Cootie Williams and was produced around 1952. Mercury Records signer and piano player Dinah Washington has been cited as one of the most popular black female recording artists of the 1950's. Between 1948 and 1955 she had 27 R&B top 10 hits making her one of the most successful singers of the era. 

 

From its opening in 1929 until its closure in 2010 Globe Poster Company in Baltimore was the go-to place for musicians circuses drag races and concert producers for bold eye-catching letterpress advertising. It's no secret that Globe cardboard concert posters are the gold standard amongst advanced collectors. They rarely show up at public auction and when they do they are always met with enthusiastic bidding!
