This original cardboard poster is a real slice of southern delta blues history! The concert on February 6th 1956 featured the great blues harp master Sonny Boy Williamson in Georgia at the Griffin V.F.W Club. The legend's name (who's birth name is Alex "Rice" Miller) is exhibited on the poster as Sonny Boy "Williams" because confronted by veteran blues harp player John Lee Williamson on a Southern tour they agreed that Alex would be billed as "Sonny Boy Williams." That name change was short lived. His official recordings with Chess subsidiary Checker Records from 1955 to 1964 used the name Williamson. The very first poster example of this long lost specimen to appear in our auction!
