| This Original Pre-Concert FIRST Printing Poster has just emerged from a recently unearthed and long held collection of Tula concert posters we are offering in this auction! The Tubes are featured on this Cain's Ballroom 1981 poster by noted artist Brian James Thompson. The group was touring to support their album "The Completion Backward Principle". Years prior The Tubes first big hit from their debut record "White Punks on Dope" was an anthem of wretched excess and ridiculed the Hollywood kids of the rich and famous in LA. The band remained a powerful force in the rock music world of the late seventies as well as through the eighties. Deadheads are aware that original Tubes member Vince Welnick later replaced Brent Mydland on keyboards in 1990. In the early days of Cain’s Ballroom the venue showcased Western Swing Music. Purchased by investor Larry Shaeffer in 1976 and reopened in 1977 Cain’s was revamped to house new rock music. Punk Icons The Sex Pistols performed a legendary show there 40 years ago on January 11th and the concert inspired local Tulsa youths to form punk bands. Concert posters from Cain's Ballroom are Cult Classics and are extremely rare and sought after with advanced collectors. We constantly receive requests for these with no way of meeting demand.
