| This double-sided original handbill was designed by the late great Rick Griffin to advertise Saturday Night Concerts held at Calvary Chapel in Santa Ana California during 1979. Most of these events showcased local Christian Rock Bands from the area. If you think the character in the design looks a lot like Bob Dylan you win the blue ribbon. It was completely intentional. Griffin was a big Dylan fan and when Dylan began involving Christian themes in his new music during this era Rick took the opportunity to celebrate by characterizing the legendary folk singer stepping out of the dark and into the light. This is the FIRST example of this original handbill to appear in our auction. If you are an avid Griffin fan you gotta ask yourself how you can live without this handbill in your collection!
