This lot includes a Signed Letter of Authenticity by Jay Thelin proprietor of The Psychedelic Shop! The short lived but historic shop closed in October 1967 and the LOA states the issue has been in Jay Thelin's possession since. San Francisco Oracle Volume 1 Issue #7 first printed and released in the spring of 1967. The cover features incredible photography by Paul Kagan. Issue includes an article featuring the complete text of the "Houseboat Summit Meeting " with Allen Ginsberg Alan Watts Gary Snyder and Timothy Leary debating philosophy of the era.

The San Francisco Oracle was an underground newspaper which published 12 issues between September 1966 and February 1968. It was distributed in the Haight Ashbury area and was an early member of the UPS (Underground Press Syndicate). It combined poetry spirituality and multicultural interests with psychedelic design reflecting on the counter-cultural community. Many issues had ads for music and records. The Oracle is the most famous and collectible of any underground paper. Contributors included many significant San Francisco area artists including the late great Rick Griffin. It also featured such beat writers as Allen Ginsberg Lawrence Ferlinghetti and Michael McClure.
