It was designed by renowned Detroit artist Gary Grimshaw for a run of shows featuring the MC5 and Southbound Freeway. MC5 started their music career in Michigan and developed a reputation for energetic and polemical live performances. They were a mainstay at the Grande Ballroom. This original poster was printed only once prior to the concert and there were no reprints. The Grande Ballroom series produced some of the finest imagery from the 1960’s music scene and the posters have become one of the most highly sought after items by serious collectors.
