1966-FD-17-OP-2-Jefferson Airplane-Avalon Ballroom Concert Poster-FROM JAY THELIN OF THE PSYCHEDELIC SHOP! CGC 6.0 Trimmed

This lot includes a Signed Letter of Authenticity by Jay Thelin proprietor of The Psychedelic Shop! The short lived but historic shop closed in October 1967. The poster once graced the walls of the shop and has been in Jay Thelin's possession since.

This poster has been placed in a CGC "Restored" holder because it's been trimmed. The FD-17 was created by Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse two of the most legendary artists of the era. This early Avalon issue is universally recognized as one of the most stunning posters in the entire Family Dog series. Just 1000 specimens were created. It's highly sought after and always competitively fought over whenever it appears at public auction.

The Original Pre-Concert FD-17's were printed with runs of Gold and Silver ink. This Original Version 2 shown here was printed in silver ink. It's less common and much harder to find than the gold ink version.
