The Grateful Dead took the stage in Stockton California in early 1978 and this poster was designed by renowned artist Randy Tuten. The Uncle Sam skeleton figure was created by Gary Gutierrez and appeared in the The Grateful Dead movie.
These concerts in January were unique and are well known in Deadhead circles because Garcia was recovering from a nasty bout of laryngitis one that would plague him for the rest of the tour. Interestingly however Garcia's guitar playing was on point at these shows.
