This original Armadillo poster from August 1977 was designed by the late great Austin poster artist Micael Priest and used to promote an art exhibition of his drawings!

Priest got his start working with artist Jim Franklin years prior and he took over as art director of the Vulcan Gas Company after Gilbert Shelton moved to San Francisco. When the Vulcan closed and the Armadillo World Headquarters opened Priest became a member of "The Armadillo Art Squad" designing posters for the venue regularly.

This 1977 example is in super clean quality condition with no tears or pinholes! We've been reporting for quite some time that interest in Armadillo HQ posters have been really heating up and a great book on the subject has been released. These posters have nowhere to go but up when it comes to interest and desirability!
