We are proud to offer this SUPER RARE Original Duane and Gregg Allman Handbill for the FIRST TIME in our auction! This first printing handbill from March 10th 1967 was produced for The Allman Joys appearance at the National Guard Armory located in Phoenix City Alabama. The group was founded by & featured pre-Allman Brothers Band founders Duane and Gregg Allman at a very young age.

The handbill advertises "Dial Recording Artists" which is an added bonus to the group's lineage. Nashville songwriter John D. Loudermilk first discovered the band playing in a small club and helped Duane & Gregg record some early rough demo tracks in late 1966. A version of "Spoonful" was released locally and soonafter Loudermilk introduced the Allman Joys to Buddy Killen of Dial Records. Killen thought highly of the band's sound and signed them to record a few tracks. By the time anything substantial would be distributed widely to the public Duane and Gregg moved to California to form the band Hour Glass. This concert in Alabama took place shortly before the group dissolved.

The legacy of The Allman Brothers is undeniable in the world of collectibles. Two years ago a Duane Allman guitar sold at a public auction for $600 000. Original Pre-Concert First Printing material from the Allman Joys is extremely difficult to locate - especially early material featuring Duane and Gregg pictured in the photograph - and are very special objects of desire that come around once or twice a decade! This lot without a doubt represents a special opportunity!
