This is the FIRST CGC Graded example of this high grade Velvet Underground postcard we've auctioned! It was designed by renowned Detroit artist Gary Grimshaw for a run of shows featuring Lou Reed's Velvet Underground at the Grande Ballroom in 1969! Nice and Earth Opera were in support. This double sided card is unique because it exhibits the image for Jethro Tull Grande shows only a few days prior. THERE WERE NO POSTERS OF THIS EVENT PRODUCED!
The Grande Ballroom series produced some of the finest imagery from the 1960’s music scene. In many cases promoter Russ Gibb chose to only produce postcards to promote events. That being the case Grande cards and card sets have become one of the most highly sought after items by serious collectors. Superb Museum Quality that is unimprovable in every way!
