This poster is signed in ink by the artist Lee Conklin!
This reprint poster offers the same popular and iconic BG-109 art for far less than a First Print currently commands! The original first printing can be like a needle in a haystack to locate in ANY condition and even the official post-concert reprints are tough to find. This SIGNED poster is the Wolfgangs Vault RP-3 printing produced in 2006. The condition is superb and adds an extra flair to the incredible artwork paper quality.
Two of the most sought after Fillmore posters in the whole series are the BG 109 and BG 110. These back-to-back posters announced consecutive weekends of the power trio “Cream” in San Francisco in 1968. Lee Conklin created BG-109 and Stanley Mouse did the BG-110. Both posters used the same publicity photo of the band as inspiration but the artist’s individual styles delivered two strikingly contrasting images of the band. Conklin's take on it in the BG-109 shown here delivers bright colors and his trademark drippy-line & lettering work representing a mountainside in the hot sun.
The band was at the height of their game at the time of the shows. Having formed in 1966 the band met with critical acclaim. However after a couple of years of heavy touring the band became strained by internal conflict between Baker and Bruce. They would close down shop by the end of 1968.
