This is the FIRST CGC Graded example of this seldom seen Great Highway handbill to appear in our auction! The image exhibits the classic Family Dog logo with advertising for Country Joe & The Fish appearing at the Great Highway in March 1970. Joy of Cooking were in support and artist Randy Tuten created the design.

Approximately seven months after The Family Dog were forced out of the Avalon Ballroom Chet Helms opened up shop on the Great Highway. The site was at the former Edgewater Ballroom part of the Playland at the Beach complex. Due to budget constraints relatively few posters were produced for the shows at 660 Great Highway. Mostly handbills were used to promote those concerts and they were printed in small quantities.
